Hi , I have a 1993 F150 5.0 302 auto 4x4 75,000 miles . Problem When you drive it , and come to a stop the engine surges up and down sometimes it dies. No check engine light! (it works). Not all the time. Any Ideas? Have done a bunch of things and it still does it.
First guess would be Idle air control valve - try cleaning throttle body and valve with throttle body cleaner. See sticky on IAC valves at top of page.

Good suggestion. I would also check for vacuum leaks and check the EGR valve in case it is leaking slightly. You may also want to see if you have any error codes stored. Go to fordfuelinjection.com for how to with a paperclip.
Hi, The Idle air control valve was replaced. The throttle position sensor switch was replaced. The throttle body was cleaned , When the injectors were replaced. Question?? After taking off the battery cables to clear computer how long does it take before the computer starts to reset it self.
