Navigation Problems

I have the 08' factory navigation and sometimes I will be traveling and the road may turn, but the navigation says that I keep going straight. It may get 30 to 40 miles off course and think that I am in a totally different place. And this may continue for days. Even after multiple restarts. And then one morning i'll go get in the truck and it will have corrected itself and have me in the right place. Any ideas on this?

maybe software updates are needed?

I dont know much about this stuff so forgive me if I sound ignorant, but how to I go about doing updates?

i would check your owners manual. I do not have the nav system so I really don't know, just throwing a idea out for you.

i have had mine for about a month. have not had that problem. i think when mine starts up it gives a number to call. you have to buy a new disk. if yours doesn't tell you a number to call, when it starts up, look on the disk in the unit. i can get the number off mine if you have trouble, but it will be tommorrow.

I don't think it's A software problem, I have A job 1 truck and it works perfect. there is A calibration for direction, it's in the manual. You turn on calibration then drive in circles in A parking lot, I have not done it, but did read it in the manual.
