Van won't crank

Need help on starting my Van. It is a 1997 E150 with a Titan. Wife went to town, at stop, engine died. When she tried to start, it would only click. Battery was a little low, had it checked, it was OK. I charged the battery and tried to start it, only click. Removed starter and had it checked. Autozone said it was good. Tried another battery that was fully charged, still only get clicks.
Voltage drops to below 8 volts when starter clicks.
Any suggestions?
I wasn't impressed with the test at Autozone. Shop wants to replace alternator (which they did in 2007).
