What's Louder???
Hello everyone--
I wanted to get my dad a replacement muffler for his truck (2000 SuperDuty w/5.4) Stock has 3" inlet/outlet. Was wondering if the 70 series BigBlock muffler is louder than a DeltaFlow 40 series? Or would the 3 chamber 50 series be louder than the DeltaFlow? Wanted original 40-series but Summitracing didn't have it...

if iwas you guys i would consider not even putting a muffler becuase if i am right it has four cats on. two on each side i believe and they are really restrictive. The straight pipe along with the cats should give it a pretty nice and deep tone if you should decide to go with duals or a single exhuast. If you go with duals though you could probly have a muffler shop put straight pipe on it on each side so it will more or less be a true dual exhaust and with big tips like 3.5" to 4" would make it sound awsome.Good luck.
