Still available from Ford, the Memphis TN Ford Parts Depot has 85.
MSRP: $30.85 // FTEpaqrtsguy.com price: $22.21
This does not seem correct.
The 1973-1977 F100/350 didn't have hood letters, they had grille letters.
The closest thing I could come up with to a part number is D3TZ-8316-K Grille letter set.
The 1968-1974 Econolines also didn't have hood letters, these were also grille letters.
And according to my info , Letter "D" D9TZ16606D also fits 1975-1981 Econolines, hood and rear door, and 1978-1981 Bronco, and F-100/F350, as well as the rest of the hood letter set.
Can you confirm or is my info really that badly out of date?

Reason: severe typos

Out of date inre to: There is no part number of D3TZ-8316-K any longer:
Replaced by: D3TZ-8316-A-B-C-D. letters F-O-R-D
I only looked under basic part number 16606 (hood letter basic part number) in the 1973/79 light truck parts catalog (used my edition of 10/88 on microfiche, the last catalog of the series).
I didn't look at the moulding section where other letters would be listed, because the hood letters aren't listed there.
I didn't look at the 1980/89 light truck parts catalog.
Hood letters: This is what the listing says: 1973/79 E/F100/350.
Now we both know there's no such thing as a 1973/74 E350, but partsmen knew the difference, as that was Ford's way of doing things.
I agree after looking at grille pics that 1973/77's didn't use hood letters, but that's what the parts catalogs sez.
Why hood letters are listed there for 1973/74 Econolines, I dunno.
The bottom line is, I posted the part number, said it was still available, went to Ford's website to confirm that fact, by looking at the PDC status.
PDC: Parts Depot Center(s). The Memphis (only) Depot shows 85, and that's it...when those are gone, the part will be obsolete.
