od button

Does the od button just shut off overdrive or is it actually a tow haul mode where it changes **** patterns etc? My truck has the factory trailer hitch and trailer wiring so I am assuming it has the tow package. Is there anyway to tell for sure? I bought the truck used. Also my wiper washer doesn't work and fuse is good. Is there a relay for this and where would it be? 2006 f150 4x4.. Thanks.

I don't believe the OD button affects the tranny like a tow/haul option does. This is a new option for the 09's I believe. As for the tow packadge you can check and see if you have the upgraded tranny cooler, as well as the 6 pin wire harness. I believe if it was just the stock hitch it would only have the 4 pin harness.

The trans cooler is the give away on the towing package... You can also have a dealer run your VIN. They will be able to tell you just what options you have...

The OD button locks out the OD gear. You want to do this with your trans gear hunts (constantly does in and out OD while towing)

As for the windshield fluid motor... The check the connector at the motor (it's on the washer fluid tank) to make sure it has a good connection and is getting voltage... The motor maybe bad... They'll burn out if they are run excessively without fluid.

there will be a trans cooler behind the bumper with the A/C condenser and radiator

your rear hitch will have a 4 pin and 6 pin wiring connections on the same metal mount

no idea bout the wiper motor, but wildcard has a good suggestion

i believe the O/D button is for lowering the RPMs @ speeds of over 45-50 MPH . I dont think it has anything to do with towing.

yeh this is nothing to do with tow haul. the tow haul just came out on the 09's. its for highway speeds to help lower rpm's like keisha9 said. Its to help conserve gas and help lessen the strain on the motor since its now pulling lower rpm's and in the long run will lengthen the life of the motor.
