Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

When installing exhaust manifold gaskets, should the shiney side go against the heads or toward the manifolds?

Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

You may get different answers on this one but I have always put the shiny side facing the manifold. This was due to warpage of the manifolds and the porous shiny side seemed to be able to help and the manifold side seems to get to a higher temp.
