I'm a happy man!

I posted a little while back about some GP issues I had (involving a fire, and subsequently apparently shorted out GP)

Today I pulled that glowplug, put in a new ZD-9, patched the wire (it got so hot the connector broke off), and turned the key. The glow plugs once again work as they should. Woohoo!

No more having to worry about plugging the truck in everywhere I go that it might sit for more than 4 hours.

nice job, it feels good to get something working again by yourself... well and with the help of the forum! lol but i mean fixing it without having to pay a mechanic, and i will never pay a mechanic to fix my truck if i can fix what went wrong with it on my own. absolutely refuse to.

Trust me, I had my fingers crossed when I first turned the key. haha.

I sure hope I never have to get at the GP that's back under the turbo though...ugh.

Murphy's law of auto mechanics dictates that it must always be the hardest one that needs changed.

That rule is two lines up from the when you drop a tool, it comes to rest in the exact center of the vehicle, unless there is a floor drain close by.

Dave when i used to work on my dirt bikes i would never be able to find a 12mm wrench or socket the gremlins were always taking them. and the phone always rings when you are wrist deep in grease or gear lube..

Hey, I was lucky enough yesterday that I could tighten down my #6 injector (yes, it got loose again, evil thing) with just the open 1" wrench, and didn't have to mess with removing return lines and putting the socket on it.
