Let us know what condition your turbo is in. We can pull it and rebuild it and install the WW. Just need more info on the problem. . Roland and I have been talking about this. Let us know.
Here's everything you'd need in one kit (as long as the compressor backing plate is OK): eBay Motors: BANKS 99/03 7.3 POWERSTROKE TURBO TURBOCHARGER REBUILD (item 110340306363 end time Jan-26-09 14:05:32 PST) You can have it in only a few days. Ron is ''top notch'' for his service. You wouldn't be able to do the balancing due the "down time" involved, but the rebuild wouldn't be a big deal. We just need to determine if any additional parts, other than the kit, would be required.
His sig said 99. Wasn't sure about early or late. Price should be the same. Ron has him covered either way. If he had the early bird, he wouldn't need the WW, it would have it already. I just figured it was the later because we wanted to install one. He would still need one as a replacement though.
If this were me I would be looking to why there is an intake problem on the turbo. The fresh air side should see clean air no bugs, dirt,or other things that will chunk out your turbo.Start looking for pieces of metal in the intake and pressure side of the turbo.

He just did the 6637 mod when he discovered this. Probably due the 200k+ miles, he has, with the stock (junk) box.
The turbo in the picture looks like it just came new shipped from Garret compared to mine... If THAT turbo is in bad shape then I cant believe that mine hasn't completely blown apart yet... I really need to get a picture to yall, and soon. As far as the date my truck was made...... it says MARCH '99 on the sticker so I'm guessing that is considered a LATE 99 model.
I forgot to mention one minor detail when I explained my F-UP. Yall might kick me off this site once you hear how stupid I am....This is gonna get ugly.... About one year ago, before I knew about FTE or the 6637, I put a STUPID, JUNKY, cone filter (similar to the K&N, AFE, aftermarket units) on my truck and attached it kind of like the 6637. However, unlike the 6637, this one wasn't made for the suction power of a turbo charged engine. I was going down the street one day with a heavy right foot and heard a nice little THUMP. I looked in my mirror and saw a little puff of black smoke behind me. I knew it couldnt be good so when I got home I immediately pulled the filter off to inspect it..... I noticed what seemed to be the spot where a rubber gasket USED TO BE!!!!! I then pulled the intake tube off the turbo and noticed small chipping on the outer edge of the compressor wheel. I searched the IC tubes for the gasket but found nothing. Being that I am a complete DUMMY, I put the truck back together and put the whole thing as far back in my brain as possible (hoping it wouldnt get worse). I guess I was wrong. Sorry guys I feel like I have wasted all of yalls time....One, because I didnt tell this story like 20 posts ago, and two, because I took so much room to write this rediculous story....I'm only 23 so I guess you live and learn, right????? Sorry once again and HAPPY STROKIN'
Sounds like you are already on borrowed time. I'd take them up on the offer and make a day out of it. If you are willing to learn, you will pick up a lot hanging around here.
How big was the piece the turbo ate? It might be a good idea to pull the IC tube on the driver side and see if you can feel any pieces of debris at the entrance of the intercooler. You might also have some restriction in your IC if all the pieces didn't make there way out.
Look at the bright side. Now that you've found FTE, think of how much money you'll save fixing this by not having to bring it to a shop.
where are you located i am in shreveport at barksdale if you need some help with it let me know just did mine , mine did blow up the shaft snapped into and only exhaust side was rattling aroun was running about 80 when heard loud pop and cloud of black smoke behind me so if need help let me know

It's pureed by now. He was at WOT so the turbo was really spinning.
