Transmissions

I am looking to purchase a 97-03 f150 4.6 and i'm just wondering how the automatic transmissions behind them tend to hold up.

Very well when properly maintained. A 4.6L will probably have the 4R70W (mine does, w/170K miles on it) which is also what a gazillion Police Interceptors have. It's a good transmission.

A lot of guys race with them too and they hold up.
