I am thinking that you replaced #4 spark plug and COP and still have a missfire DTC for that cylinder. A common problem with these early F-150s is a slight leak from the heater hose that is directly above the COP. The heater hose clamp is loose and you get an occasional drip of coolant onto the COP and down into the spark plug well. This can cause the COP to fail or the spark plug to fail. Tighten the clamp and be sure to use dielectric grease on the spark plug boot to keep moisture out of the equation. Good luck!
P0304 Cylinder 4 misfire all the way to heater hose leak.

I have been fighting this problem for a little less than a year also. I originally did everything (May 2008) as stated above and the truck ran fine. I fixed everything except the hose leak. The leak was so small and hidden I never could find where the leak was coming from. The other day the problem started again and I finally found where a "tear drop" leak was occurring. A couple of questions.
1. Can I fill the spark plug boot up with as much dielectric grease as I can get in there?
2. I tightened the clamp and the leak still occurred. I inspected the hose and and metal tubing rising up from the block. I cannot find anywhere that a leak should be occurring. Any ideas from past experience on this issue?
3. It appears that this leaking hose is connected to the heater block inside the glove box. Does fluid only travel thru this hose when the heater is running?
I tightened the clamp for the heater hose and created a "catch" out of a soda can for the leak, if the leak still exist. This way the leak will not drip into the spark plug boot, but I will be able to still see the liquid. The truck is running normal right now. This will be trial period. If the P0304 come back I'll have to look for other leaks. Thanks for the help.
