Cam sensor bad?
Problem: At certain times the truck will feel like it is quickly swithcing gears or missing gear. Also, it when accelerating it does not have a steady acceleration but instead sputters a bit. I was told by a ford mechanic that it may be the cam sensor because they have a recall on that part but he didnt look at it or anything. Anyone ever experience this?

What do you have for a truck, and what engine?most of the posts about cam phaser problems don't involve the things your truck is doing. Most cam phaser problems cause a knock or diesel sound at idle, but go away above 1000rpm. It could be alot of things, bad injector, bad fuel pump, or maybe a problem in the transmission. I'm sure someone else will chime in with more info.
