More escort issues?
My 99 Escort zx2 has a Surpintine belt tentioner going bad. How hard is it to replace on the zx2?? Everyone I talked to says the hardest part is taking the belt off. Is that true? Can I get to the bolts that hold the tentioner on easily?? No bod

Once you take the tensioner loose, you just take the bolt out that the tensioner pivots on.
If the tensioner still keeps the belt thight, though, you might be able to just replace the pulley and bearings on it.

No, the tentioner pulley is fine, the spring in the adjustment arm is faulty. I just want to unbolt the tentioner assemboly and bolt on a new one. My main concern is that the surp belt tentioner assemboly is going to be difficult to take off. Is the tentioner assemboly hard to remove? The three bolts that hold it on?
