Hooker max flows
Does anyone know if the 3" in and outlet maxflow hookers have baffles inside or glasspacking ? Looking for a muffler for my o1 f-350 diesel for when I put my own custom duels on...I know diesels dont like baffles and mainly use glass packing rite ? Do muffler companies use both in some mufflers in the add for that muffler it said " hi temp packing " so im not sure if it is all packing or if it has baffles.

I used hooker max flows on my 91 diesel with 2.5" true duals(no turbo) and never had a problem with them.
Any muffler that will hold up to a big block gas motor will work for a diesel heat is not really a factor since gas motors run hotter exhaust gas temp anyway. This is what I have been told anyway I've never had a gas motor with an EGT gauge.
The Max Flows use a ceramic wool for the packing and are a striaght through design. Have you considered running no muffler, PS run excellent like that and they are not very loud.

So how was the exhuast note changed from running true duels on a diesel ? same,louder,different note ? I have a summit exhaust cuttout rite before the big muffler so I can straight pipe it whenever I want to. It has quite a flutter noise which from the outside sounds kinda poppy....so I just want to quiet it down just a bit. What im doing is since the pipe is 3.5 inch on this truck im putting a high flow muffler and welding a Y pipe on the end of it and running 3" pipes out each end of the rear bumper. And putting 18" long 4" chrome tips.

I think running true duals made it a little bit louder, when I first got the truck I replaced the muffler with a straight pipe. It was kinda loud but, not any louder than agas motor with glasspacks, then I went a few months later and had a exhaust shop put 2.5" true duals no mufflers with 3.5"x18" tips MAN was it loud you couldn't even get above an idle without it echoing off buildings and it ran like ***** because it had no back pressure, so I got a set of turbos mufflers for it and it had a very pleasing rumble to it with a slight cackle just before it hit the governor and it ran good again.
