Stainless Reducers

Where can I find stainless steel header collector reducers. Can a muffler shop make these pieces? What is the best muffler configuration behind a 400 with headers and 3" collectors.

Should I reduce from 3" to 2-1/2" just behind the collectors in front of the mufflers, or behind the mufflers?

Supposedly a 3" exhaust is too big for a 400 built for low end torque. So just where do I make the reduction?

Hi Eric. Summit has the reducers you are looking for here [link:www.summitracing.com|SS reducers] Enter part # SUM-G4754SS. I'd reduce the size at the collector and just run a 2 1/2" system.

Thanks, I will check those out. I checked out a set at JCW but only the tubing was stainless. The flanges were regular steel. I had looked in Summit a couple of years ago and did not see these. I see them now.

Thanks again,
