Check This Amp Out

I am no car stereo buff and I need help. I recently purchased an Alpine head which has the following power:

CD receiver with built-in amplifier (18 watts RMS CEA-2006/50 peak x 4 channels)

I also put four of the following Polk Audio speakers in my doors and kick panel:

db571

5 X 7 coaxial loudspeaker
Incredible Sound/Affordable Price

Alpine has come out with this power booster amp to increase the head unit power:

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. - KTP-445

My question is, Do you guys think this will make the speakers sound any better. The sound is awesome now but I think they will sound unbelievable with more power to them. I dont want subs and a high priced amp, I am on a budget. Help me you car stereo buffs?

Thanks

Would have gotten better sound out of the correct sized 6x8 speakers in the doors.

A bit better. You can pick up 1.5dB or there about. Your still only talking about 27 watts RMS, so your only pushing the speakers to half of their power handling. I would go ahead and buy a 4x50 to 4x75 watt amplifier and set it up correctly. Your going to gain about 6dB this route (I think I calculated that right but it could be 9dB).

The size of the speakers will not make that much difference. The power going to them will. Your HU is putting out 18w and the speakers can work up to 60w. The closer to max power, the more dB they will produce without distortion.

Could anybody recommend a brand of amp....it would greatly help if you could provide a link to what you are recommending. Keep in mind that I am on a limited budget and would really like to keep it as low as possible.

Does anybody have one for sale?

Help me out.
