1976 ford f350 4x4?

Ford did not make a 4x4 F350 until 1979. They also never put rear disc brakes in them, nor did they come with 460's.
These items listed above have been added. You 76 did have an open knuckle low pinion front end with disc brakes, (D44) and while this was factory, it did not have rear disc brakes. These were added.
Where are my manners? Welcome to the site.

You can set up your gallery, or you can copy your images into something similar to photobucket.
Once youhabe images in your photobucket, you can either post a link to the site, or copy the IMG code and paste it to during your quick reply, and your image will appear on the screen.
Interesting. My first 75 was a 2wd 350 truck as well and I converted it.
I am eager to see your truck. Steering and such would be neat to see. I enjoy seeing how someone else has performed a 4wd conversion.

welcome to FTE!
nice trucks. if you to sell stuff just put it in the classifieds or the 1973-1979 Swap Meet.
No F350 4x4s til 1979.
No 460s in 4x4s til 1983 and these were only F350s.
No 460, 4 speed, 4x4s til 1983 and these were also only F350s.
if you ever have any questions about your truck, just ask. that's why FTE was started......for Ford owners to talk about their vehicles.

Well, you clearly have a factory 4x4 chassis. Acording to these pics, this would be a 77.5 to 79 frame. At least the front of the frame. These bolt in spring hangers and factory rivets on the shavkle hanger would indicate a 77.5 to 9 truck.
The last pic really looks like you have a D44 high pinion front axle. This would mean that you have the later 77.5 to 79 axle as well. I really cant see the knuckle, but that steering arm tells me that this is a D44. Hard to tell, but I do not see a straight steerin arm, and this particular one is a boomerang type.
The engine would also lead me to believe that you have a later model engine. That dipstick tube location and the color tells me that it too is a later model engine.
Casting numbers are easy to identify on the 460.
You also have an 80's style master cylinder and booster. This style booster and aluminum master was used then. Btw: yours is leaking bewteen the master and the booster. Only a matter of time before the seal goes bad, and the vacuum from the engine will start to draw fluid out of the master, and your brakes will fail.
Keep the pics coming.
You definately have a truck that has been put together. This is not a bad thing, and can be kind of fun figuring out what parts you actually have.
The real fun begins when you have to replace something, and you have to run to the parts store.
"Yeah, I am looking for a master cylinder for, ummmm that truck out there".
"What year is it sir?"
"I dunno, lets try 76."
"Sure we have that part, lets fo get it,,,,pause for dramatic effect,,,,,,,,returns, sir, the master that we have is cast iron, and you said yours was aluminum. My computer does not show any listings for aluminum master cylinders."
Ummm, ok, how about brakes, my rear brakes have to be changed too."
Ok sir, what year was that again? Uhhh, sir,,,,,my puter does not show a listing for rear disc brakes."
Yeah, you get it. This is where the fun really begins.

ok so for lift it has 4 inches of body bushings and the front has 4 leafs up front they are 3 inches wide and the rear has 5 leafs they are also 3 inch wide but the bottom one the smallest one is alot thinker then the other 4 and it has 6 1/2 inches of blocks all held together with 12in u bolts that are topped out so ide say around 8 to 10 inches of lift i believe the cover on the rear end has 10 bolts if that helps any and yes the grill was changed out to the newer style it looks better all wheel disk brakes latter bars on the rear and the rear bumper on this is nuts it was built around a square channel tow hitch
