Leaf Spring differences

I have two trucks, 84' 2wd and 86' 4wd, both half ton. Is there a difference in the rear leaf springs?

i found a thread awhile back when i was doing homework on a 4x4 conversion, said the skinnier leafs were more flexible (better ride on road) but the thicked 4x4 springs are much stiffer and give better off road performance... supposively you can switch them fairly easily. try searching 4x4 or 4wd conversion in the search engine, might tell you a bit more.

The 2wd spring is 2 1/2 inches wide, the 4wd has 3 inch wide springs. It's a pain to swap them because you have to swap out the spring hanger brackets riveted to the frame.
