I got a stabilizer from skyjacker but the directions are for a non lifted truck, so the braket they give coming down from the frame is not long enough and would look stupid if it where. Anyone else have one on their 250? any pics on the mount?
Thanks
i just withstood blistering winds and 6 degree temps for you!!!!!!!
my moutn is custom, obviously..lol. it worked great until i jumped the truck, the lower stabilizer bolt stub hit the leaf spring on landing and bent the tab over.....oops. other then that it has withstood sever twisting offorad and heavy towing for 5 years with no concern. i cant complain, even about the mishap with the shock, normal people dont jump their trucks.
Thanks Coon--I was looking at the truck earlier and didn't think I could drop like you did because of the spring in the way. I guess your 6" lift alomst gives you enough room!lol I'll ttry to get a peice of "z" bar so I can weld the one legg to the frame like you and bolt to the closerone to clear the spring---in case I get crazy like you and want to jump my truck! Heck if I did that it might knock off about 200 lbs of rust and give me a center pivot point
lol, i cant say i would recomend jumping your truck to the extent of what i did........ but it sure was fun. if i ever get time that was my plan as well, to remove the straight mount and fabricate an offset bracket to clear the spring. you dont need much, 3/4 of an inch would do it
