My 07 5.4 F-150 was wrecked and deemed a total loss by my insurance company. I bought a leftover 2008 from my local dealer to replace it. I took my edge and CAI off the wrecked truck to install in the new truck. Is there an amount of time or miles I should wait before installing the mods to the new truck? I only have just over 300 miles on it. Should it be broken in first? I run my edge on level 3.
I am not sure about the CAI but a friend of mine starting using his EDGE as soon as he drove his new truck off the lot. Not sure if it makes a difference because the settings can always be reversed to factory default like my Superchips tuner can I believe.
installed my Volant at 500 miles, catback exhaust at 600 miles
don't worry about messing it up. I had my CAI installed for 22,000 miles with 0 issues...and now run a blower. she purrs
as for the programmer, go for it. later on, you can unplug the battery for 30 minutes. this will clear the PCM and let the truck relearn driving characteristics
I say go for it. They ain't doing any good sitting on the shelf
I think I would what a little shake out any bugs that might come up.
I had a problem with my truck on warrinty and I had my edge and returned it back to stock, I took it out before the dealer picked it up,and I mean the rhe pod and all. When I picked it up the dealer asked "Has anyone been in the computer?" I replyed "No not that I know" he just smiled and gave my truck back. In return I had them change the oil to throw him a bone.
That being said not all dealers are that cool.
I gotta question. Did the insurance take the truck or how did that work? What im getting at is I would like to find a paintable front bumper guard and a honeycomb grill.
