Quick 4wd question.

I have an '04 SCab XLT with the manual shift 4x4. What is the purpose of the neutral position between 4hi and 4lo.

flat towing....you'll probably never need it....older transfer cases with pto's also used it for powering the pto while not moving...

No......if you need to tow your truck behind say an rv....with just a drawbar...it allows the axles to spin rather while the transmission does not...
