new torque converter

I have a2003 e-450 It weighs about 11000 and I pull a trailer @ 10 times a year@15000 what kind of tourque should I get, and about how much should expect to pay Thanks Matt

Is yours bad? The stock 6 leaker is a more stout unit than the one that came w/ the 7.3.

My truck dies almost everytime i try to back up and sometimes when I come up to a stoplight the truck surges foward and dies . My mech says its the conv .

if its gone that far it needs to be rebuilt any how..a good triple disk is what you want...800 to 1200 depending on what you want... your van is a 7.3 right???

Sounds like the torque converter is not unlocking when coming to a stop, sounds elec, in the control mod.

What do you think about disconnecting that purple wire and not have it lock at all. See how it behaves for a few miles and stop/goes. See if the problem still occurs. If it behaves then maybe it is just electrical.

I know if you disconnect the purple wire (let it dangle((tape))) It will flash the OD light and shift into its gears kinda of thumpy. (safemode?) But maybe this test will tell if you TC mechanical/hyrdualics are working properly.
Just a thought.
