V10 Spring Swap

I want to do the spring swap on my V10. I thought I saw a thread a while back that said the V10 engine was lighter than the Diesel engine, therefore a different spring setup might be more beneficial. Don't want to go with more lift than necessary, just a safer ride. Gonna go with the V/B springs unless you guys suggest otherwise for the V10.

Thanks.

Thanks Monsta. Did you put the tapered blocks in the back like Stewart? I'm looking for a level ride after the V/B install.

I've not done a V/B swap since I have a 2WD. I am recommending it for 2 reasons.

1. Everyone I've ever spoken with either online or in person love the mod.

2. It is a mod where you aren't piecing together stuff. You know exactly what you're getting.

What about your ride do you feel is "unsafe"?

I did the VB swap and the tapered f350 block. here's a pic. it's just a tad bit higher in the rear.

Monsta, it feels unsafe because of the imfamous Excursion wander. Would like a little more stability when towing also. Racer, great looking X, and yes, wouldn't mind just a bit higher in the rear. Just didn't want the front to be higher than the back. Thanks.

it's replacing the factory leaf springs with (basically f250 and 350 springs) heavier duty springs. the leaf springs aren't rated by numbers. they are known as spring code. the "V" code springs are the fronts and will typically lift an excursion with the V10 approximztely 2". the "B" code springs do the same thing to the rear. the stiffer springs will really do wonders for the wander that the X's have. these, in combo with some bilstein shocks, a rear sway bar, and some good E rated tires, will really make them the way they should have been made from the factory.
