cruise control

i bought my f150 about 6 years and the only problem im still stuck with is that when i put the cruise control on. what it does is feels like a surging. it doesnt have a smooth ride. it works but seems to me i shouldnt notice, or feel, any surging. is there a adjustment in the system.

you will always feel a bit of surging when the cruse is engaged and the truck is going up or down a hill... when does it surge? up a hill? on the flats?

when i go down hill, but im not talking about much of a down grade. on flat ground it will get up to speed but if theres any kinda of decline, and i mean any, it will slow down then increase and i can really feel it. seems like thers to much of a variance in it. seems to me there should be a smooth transition and you should hardly feel it. at least thats the way it was in a new car i rented. i could hardly feel anything in it. i really dont use the cruise but if theres a setting, or adjustment that would fix, it that would be nice.
