C-6 Trans questions
Hello all,
New to this forum and loving it.
I have a 93 f350 CC,LB 4x4
I have a lot of grinding noise and slipping in my trans. really only goes in 2nd gear and reverse. Any thought s to what it maybe.
Also can anyone tell me....what years C6 trans I can replace this with and what to look for, is there any modles that wont bolt up.
I just bought this truck yesturday it has a in bed 5 yard dump box and I will be putting a plow and spearder on it. What TC should I buy, Does anyone have a rebuild proceedure or manual they can send me?
Truck has a 5.8L,c6,4.10gears

you will need a C6 for a 5.8. ford transmissions are engine family specific.
but first make sure you do indead have a C6. by 93, the standard trans was the E4OD. the C6 was a special order option.

Thanks for your responce. I ran the VIN at Ford and they tell me it is a C6. Will any year C6 that came off a 5.8 work? and what about the c6's that came off a 460 or other Big blocks will they work.?

nope. 5.8, 5.0, or i think 4.9 engines only, and it has to be from a 4X4 also. the 351W and 302 have the same bell housing bolt pattern. i want to say the 300 cix cylinder shares that bolt pattern, but i am not sure. it has been a long time since i messed with one of them.
the 351M and 400 engine share the bolt pattern with the 460 and 429.
