DP Tuner Vs. Edge Evo
Hi guys! Im new to the forum and i love it so far and i can't wait to dig in some more. I'am currently running an edge evo on my early 99 powerstroke and find it to work ok (besides having to shut it off to change settings)! I was wondering if the dp tuner was any better? I have read alot of good things about them so far. Also can i still run the edge just for the gauges if i do descide to purchase a DP? Thanks

Welcome to FTE! When I purchased my truck it came with an edge programmer. When you wanted to change the settings it was like an act of Congress. Turn the truck off, turn the key on, wait, turn the key off, turn the key on, and so forth. I purchased the dp and now all I do is push the button and it changes the tune. I really like that. There is also a lot of difference in the performance. I have stock, 40t, 60t, 80e. I run in the 80e program most of the time. The throttle response is much better along with the shifting of the trans. It also is better when I am stopping as it seems to keep the converter locked longer. This is just my 2 cents on what my experience has been thus far. Several people have a Tony Wildman tuner and really like that. I don't have any experience with it. Best of luck on your decision.
