Id say either a comp 260 or 268 cam. The 268 cam is a real good performer from 1500-5500 and has a nice lope at idle. My friend has a comp 268 in his 65 with a 352 and with 36x14.50 super swampers, he can still get around 10mpg if he drives it like a grandma on the highway. Just my .02

i believe i have the 268. i dont have the number in front of me, but its supposed to pull 1500 to 5500. this is matched to a performer rpm intake, holley 750, rebuilt heads with a valve job, and dougs fenderwell headers. i kind of think i shoulda gone bigger in the cam, the comp guy said the stock motor can use whatever cam will run 1800 to 5700 or so. call comp. they have a cam help line. very nice guys and helpful. i dont see how the cam would make your carb run rich. sounds like the carb needs adjusted.
