Hi folks, I need a serial # for an 86 with 300 six and five speed. Let me tell the hole story,,I built a 77 with hydralic clutch (internal slave) and a five speed, the trouble is that the parts came with a broken hydralic line, (ford only) item, now I need to get a truck serial # to order the correct hose. Hope some one can come to my rescue, thanks JNT
I had looked you up a clutch line for an 86, then I re-read your post and realized you were looking for one for a 5 speed. If you are looking for one with a concentric slave cylinder M5OD, an 86 application is of no use to you, the 5 speed is out of an 87 or newer.
However, all is not lost. The lines are avalable aftermarket. If you have a good parts store handy that carries Dorman stuff, the part # is 628203. RockAuto has it for about $30. The Ford part # for it is E8TZ-7A512-B This part number is good for 87-91 parts, the 92-96 trucks used a different connection at the master and the quick connect at the slave cylinder is smaller. That one is Dorman 628201, Ford F3TZ-7A512-A.
yes it is an M5OD, I suppose the person may not have know the proper year of the truck, as for the latter, I ordered a line from Ford for a 96, the only one they could find, in there little world, its great to hook up with people that like yourself and numbers dummy, this should have been my first stop thank you. In my part of the world it is a Dealer only item. I will get in touch with RockAuto tomorrow, again thank you JNT
