If it's the factory slider, it will say "Carlite" on the glass, then yes the individual panes of glass can be replaced.
However, I am not certain that the individual glass is still avaliable.
The Factory slider that was used 1973-1982 was brushed aluminum framed, and that slider was discontinued for the 1982-1996 version that had a narrow black frame.
Perhaps a wrecking yard will still have a few.
Also, the glass in the slider swaps left side to right side.
Hope this helps.

Slider shouldn't rattle, if it does something is wrong. I only had a solid glass in my '79 Chevy, but that was a shortbed stepside so mostly a get-stupid-off-the-light machine, so I actually liked it without a slider, but both my Fords were more of work trucks and for some reason I like the sliders in them and would absolutely hate a solid glass. Again, there should be no rattle, hell even the slider in my '78 mud slinger didn't rattle.

like stosh said pick and pull will sell anything, since my ford will nolonger be my dd im now going for looks over functionality.... at least when it comes to rear windows. But im thinking it will just sit in my garage incase i change my mind
btw. i think there is a problem with the window, theres an 1/8th inch gap between the glass and seal on the drives side

One side or both may be missing from the center. (A common Problem actually, and would also make the window rattle.)

What I'm thinking, for that to happen the center section that holds the left side piece of glass in has to be missing.
Strange.

How do I remove a rear slider from my 84 F-150?
Can someone tell me where i might find instructions for removing a rear slider from my 84 F150? It to has a broken panel but it is not one of the slider panels. I would like to remove it and replace it with a unit from an 81 F-150 that I have for parts. Can someone also confirm if the the rear slider from the 81 F-150 will fit in the 84?
Thank you,

It will fit, but it will look different.
The Factory Sliders changed in 1982.
1973-1981 (some 1982s had the 1973-1981 dealer kits installed etc.) had a Brushed Aluminum slider, with a full visible wide metal frame around all the windows.
1982-1986 has a painted black slider, and has a narrow frame, that most of it is hidden with the weatherstriping.
All are interchangeable 1973-1996 though.
