Okay so this was sparked due to a recent thread. I have a np 205 t case, it has the wire along the frame for the 4x4 light (I do not however have the light in the cab, maybe it was removed?). I do not however have a light in the cab. I took a look at all the previous threads and it is unclear if the np-205's had a place for this wire to hook up to. So, my question is, did the np-205's have a place to hook this wire to, and where is it located. Thanks.
Cool, after the snow melts I'm going to see if I can find the location on the T-case where the wire plugs in, then I will have to see if I can find one of those lights somewheres... Maybe somebody could tell me what color the wire is in the cab that goes to the light? and where it comes out of so I can trace it and see if maybe the wire is there and the PO just cut it and tossed the light.
The wire is still blue all the way to where it plugs into the rectangular light itself, so all you have to do is just look for that color wire under the dash that terminates somewhere around the middle, into a brown rectangular socket. I think that alot of these trucks came from the factory with the wire hookup already in the harness regardless of transfer case. That's just a thought, it kinda makes sense though?
on my tcase, there is a spot on the back side of it where the wire is plugged in. and mine is a "lock" light, as i have an all time. its only on when u actually put it in lock( hi lock or lo lock), or else you have just hi or lo
What's going on? Looks like some posts are deleted here?
I'd like to know a little more about this myself. I have a 205 and do not have a light. We used to have a 78 with a 205 my dad bought new that did not have the light. I've never even seen one! I'd love to have one though if it's possible to hook it up on the 205.
