I've got a problem with one of my work trucks and we need to replace the front cover. Question: Anyone have a picture of the front cover removed? There appears to be some RTV between the cover and the oil pan. Is the oil pan gasket continuous? looking at the parts illustration on powerstrokeshop, it appears to be a one piece gasket so I don't want to use a knife to cut the rtv. Is there a lip on the lower edge of the front cover that requires the front of the oil pan need to be lowered to remove the cover?
Any of our friends that have installed windows in there motors have a spare front cover they no longer want? Trying to fix a water leak that was either screwed up by Ford under warranty long ago, or some freak accident. I'll know more once I get the front cover removed. Kind of busy today, so it may be tonight before I can reply to any questions.
Not even Google came through for a good picture.
I know I've seen a picture before, too.
The oil pan gasket is just a big bead of silicone.
I may have a picture bookmarked on my laptop somewhere. It seems like Kris posted it. Thanks for the info on the gasket. I'll use a knife to cut through that and see if that solves my problem then.
Thanks Rick. I didn't see what I was looking for there, but I always enjoy pictures. Hopefully I get time to play with this tomorrow. I'll get a pic of it here for future reference if no one else has one.
