Question Weld Racing Split Rims

I have a set of Weld Racing split rims on my street car and I am going to be putting a set of tubes in the rear (I'm running street slicks out back). Stupid question but how in the world do you separate the rim to put tubes or even tires for that matter on??

20 years in auto shops/ tire dealers Ive never heard of split rims on anything but OLD trucks and golf carts. I googled it and came up with nothing. Are they the ones where the spacer in the middle moves around when its not bolted to the car? If so it is a regular drop center wheel and comes off like any other tire/wheel

Yes, it has a spacer that "floats" in the middle. So you're saying these rims are just like any other one piece rim? If so, then what's the purpose of that gap and spacer in the middle?

its just how they are made, I think they take 2 pieces and the spacer and weld it all together, the outer parts are thinner spun alluminum and the gap between them with the spacer gives them strength. End story, any tire shop will change them for you
