If I was lookin' to build a racing 300 I6, and I had the time and the money, I would look at doin' these mods:

- Lighter, stronger, forged alloy internals
- Ported big flow head
- Some serious cams
- Big free flowing exhaust
- A hell of a lot of boost (NOS, Turbo, Blower)

A lot of people I've talked to say that a really big free spinning turbo should work. Personally I'd like to try a really big twin screw (Whipple) superhcarger rigged to a custom Wilson sheetmetal intake manifold. Can't make up my mind on whether I'd want carbs or fuel injection though. The big trick here is just getting this beast to move a ton of air faster than the other guy. I bet you could pull of at least 7000 rpm with the right internals...

Anyway, it's nice to dream, but right now my '79 F100 with the 300 needs a new clutch.

Laterz,
D.I.

I can get off the line just fine. I don't CARE about how fast a truck is, it doesn't matter that much, but you guys with your 300's saying it can get off the line faster is making me laugh. Sure, in a 2nd gear roll from 5 mph, I'd say the 300 will start to pull away first. Happy? Again, I have a manual transmission. It can get off the line 'just as fast'... or faster than a 300.

Now you are trying to compare building up a 300 using it's low end torque and extending its RPM power band. Are we talking apples to oranges here? I can say 'Stroke the 302 for a 347' and bam, watch the low end torque jump up.

Watching both trucks run down the 1/4 mile would be painstakingly unbearable, so I don't really give a ****.
so if you have a clutch what makes you think I don’t have one also let’s talk realisticallyy stock 300 bs your stock 302 no upgrades you think your fast but I’m right there on your A** you ain’t going anywhere I guarantee I’ll stay with you won’t be pulling away you won’t have a distance on me nothing I’ll be right there on you and it’s not about the truck or engine it’s all about who’s operating it I’ve pushed my 300 to it’s max and believe it I didn’t get beat by the 350 but I stayed on him even the dude in the chev 350 was surprised and I wasn’t even in 4th yet I was still in 3rd at 85mph and yet I still have 4th and 5th left to go so yeah enough talk with your 302 stop acting all big and bad because your not all this post asked if it’s possible to beat a 350 with a 300/I6 and the anti that is yes I highly suggest the kid go with a turbocharged setup go to powernation.com and see what they did with that 300I6 dam thing even caught me by surprise I was very impressed but not $8k because a poor man like me can’t afford that and that’s just the turbo kit alone there’s more that they did. To it but yes kid you surely can beat the 350 even if he upgrades to a 500hp of you do it right you’ll be closer to 700hp eating that 350 alive you guys gotta stop bagging on each other all the kid asked if it was possible and he probably didn’t want to hear you over grown kids screaming at each other over whos got the biggest dong no body cares beside yall like alll of you taking smack like grow up you ain’t a high school kid anymore just help the kid out and actually answer his questions it’s not that hard for Christ sakes man grown men arguing like kids

All I can say is brackets

I dont care if you have a 2000 HP motor I can and most likely will beat you in a bracket race.
I have done that with a 16 sec street car to 10 race cars, they were not happy, but I went on to the next round and that is all it takes to win races.

Besides bracket racing is a drivers race not a money race (who has the most money to put into a motor or car).
And dont get me started on electronic delay boxes. If you cant drive the number stay home!
