2000 or 2001 i don't know it's not mine it's a work truck but it has a problem at RPM. It started at about 3500, when you gave it any more then 3/4 throttle it would not accelerate, back off a little and it seemed fine but under heavy acceleration it feel like a rev limiter. That 3500 has dropped to about 2500 and that makes driving a little rough with any weight. My fuel pressure seems to be within spec(at least at idle) and i'm not popping any codes. I am still thinking fuel pump but figured i would look before i started throwing parts at it.
It is a 5-speed, it's got about 150,000 miles on it. It just had a complete tune up about 5000 miles ago
It does not mater what gear you are in and even has the problem in neutral or with the clutch in. It revs past 3500 fine just not with any more than about 3/4 throttle. It does not seem to have any problem idling or under part throttle just when you need it there is no power, its like hitting a wall you accelerate then as your rev's get up there you are in your seat belt. It should have had a fuel filter when it got it's tune up but there is always the chance the dealership missed it.
If the MAF checks out OK, you might want to look at the throttle positioner next, there easy to replace, but I'm not sure about the price for your truck.
This sounds like a fuel pressure regulator problem. I seem to remember someone else having the same issue and that was the cause. I cannot guarantee it but it's worth doing a search for.
Just took it out with a pressure gauge and it would seem i'm fine on the fuel side. It reads 30ish on idle and 40 a WOT so i need to look elsewhere. I have a hard time beliving it would be the MAF as at WOT it should be in open loop mode and bypass it, but i am not sure with this truck. Does anyone know the correct voltage range for a TPS? Right now i'm letting the computer reset but if there is no change the it will either be a tps or a trip to the dealership.
They say most won't, but maybe your the lucky one that does. Are you using a tuner on yours?
"Most 2v V10’s will not step up into Open Loop (power enrichment) at WOT and from the factory are calibrated to operate in Closed Loop which restrains power levels. By correcting this power enrichment function alone can increase power and toque from your 2V V10."
The problem did not appear for a few thousand miles after the tune up. I am pretty sure it will end up at the dealership. I think i will go rebuild a 460 so i don't feel so defeated.

He has the 05 3v v10, donno if that makes a diff with the tuning for going into open loop, I think i do know someone that would know. lol

Remember hes got an 05' Excursion so its a 2V under the hood.
Mine is tuned and according to my scangauge right at startup I'm in open loop for a short period of time.(time varies depending on outside temp) At WOT it will go into open loop and during engine braking (injectors shut off) it will go into open loop. Those are the only times I noticed it. Guess I should return to stock and check.......
