production codes
Does anyone know how to decipher ford production codes? My vin # is F1D2HM44327. The production code is 28KPL1654. I know how to read the vin # but what does the production code mean?

Well, this is another one of those gray areas that there doesn't seem to be any solid resource on.
There was a site I had as a favorite but it's been suspended.
But from what I remember, 28 is the 28th day of - K, October 1951, and PL1654 is the production sequence number assiged that truck on that date.
Let me snoop around and I'll see what I can come up with.
