rlh68050, did you put the white letters showing or blackwall?
I had the white letters showing (I prefer that look). You will not go wrong with these tires and they are priced right. I believe I paid ~$550 OTD from a Firestone dealer for 265/75 R 16's. The Revo's from the same dealer were $750.
Thanks rlh68050. How do the White letters look? I dont remember. Good or cheesy? That tire took the place of the Steeltex whick were awesome. Lasted forever. too bad F/stone discontinued them.
I have AT K/O with 43K, they will make 60K. I had an independent shop align my truck so it actually has positive camber. It handles much better and the tire wear is better.
Maybe i'm the exception but i've had my Revo's on my Ex for 30k + and the tread depth is still great.
They still have great winter traction because of no wear bars.
They are quiet and have never left me stuck in the mud.
I hope I haven't just jinxed myself.

wow, its wierd to hear that 30k is bad outta a set of tires... on my focus, im lucky as hell to get 20k. lol but anyways, im lookin for this size tiore for my 86 250, how wide of a rim do i have to go with? 8" or 10" i just want to get rid of the 16.5" that are on the truck.
YouTube - Acco auto-x #9 run 2 hehe, i buy high perf tires, which are NOT cheap, and run the crap outta them. although i usually get a lil more mileage outta the softer compounds, cause i dont break them loose as much.
Figures. I guess Denny Hamlin, Kasey Kane, Kyle Bush etc. could have used a longer lived tire too last year. Just 100 miles and you have a bad day with tire problems.
That is a big NO on the hankooks. I bought my Excursion used with like new hankooks and they are terribly out of round at the point they have 3/4 of the tread left. Of course, because I didn't buy the tires myself, the warranty doesn't help me at all. I have Michelin LTX M/S on my 1997 F150 and my 2004 Expedition and will not buy anything else.
Well, I guess I shouldnt cheap out then and just man-up and get the LTX's. M/S seems to be the best choice in my opinion too. The A/S just looks like a highway rib tire. Although, I can find the a/s on ebay fairly cheap, I want the white letters. Style is important on the black EB x.
Thansk for all the input. I'll still listen to more ideas/experiences too.
Please dont apologize for the "hijack", its interesting to see discussions that spur off. When I hasd spots cars, I ran Yoko AVS intermediates. They proabably dont even make those anymore.
yeha, right now on the truck i have some off-brand on/ offroad tire that does pretty well, prob gotten about 30k out of them so far, and have bout 45-50% tread left
and the tires i run in the summer on the focus are dunlop direzza DZ101 Z1 Star specs.
basically the top street tire for auto-x. size 215/40/17 want to go to 225/45/15 next year if i can find some.
Maybe i'm the exception but i've had my Revo's on my Ex for 30k + and the tread depth is still great.

Heavy, sure do. 11850 GVWR travel trailer. rarely. Mt 07 Tundra tows it much better. Others here have suggested I drop $1400 to 2000 on gears. Changing to 4.10 or 4.30's. I wonder what me mpg wil be tho. This is our family vehicle and Tundra is what I drive to work usually. We take the X to the city and on trips visiting friends 3-5 hrs away. We did make the trip to fla with the TT in the Tundra and it was fairly comfortable. the X woudl have been better but I can cruise at 80 all day and go 1:45 to 2 hrs on a tank at those speeds.
I havent gone far int he X with the trailer due to lack of speed.
as for tires, I have always been p[artial to Michelins & BFG's. While partial, I am also cheap. Plus the way my X chops front tires, I'd hate to spend a crap load on rubber and then want to replace before they are as bald as I am.
I notcied that somebody mentioned positive camber and that helped the tires last. Any experience with that?
