I used the 30A bosch relays and 30A automatic resetting breakers with larger gauge wires running to the lights. One thing to watch out for if you are just putting higher wattage llights in is that they require more amps. This will be even harder on the stock wiring and increase the risk of fire with the headlight switch. With relays you bypass the headlight switch with all of the current going through the relay and directly to the headlight.

i agree with zak8tac and 78 F150 and i third the motion of sylvania silverstars are a lot better, and for the cost of them its worth it, i bought new silverstars and installed one on the drivers side and the old stock ge one on the other side, and there is a differance not only in a pure white light, but wider light spread and longer reach, although i should notice a huge improvement once i rewire the headlights and put in relays and 2 kc fog lights for the push bar, but that is not a top priority right now considering i am in a frame off restoration with the truck and i am just finishing up installng all new wheel bearings and brakes, and have to move on to other things like shifter linkage and body work, but i will post pictures of the difference, will have a picture by Friday and whats the best way to rewire? and how should i wire in fog lamps? stupid question but i just wanted to know what other dentside owners have done?
stupid me i missed Jodell post, sorry about that! but any one wire in fog lamps, i know its pretty straight forward, but wanted to hear from other dentside owners, (like where is your fog lamp switch? and what gauge of wire? and details?) and any one wire the side marker lights to the turning signal? i have seen posts on that topic but i didn't really get any good info out of them? any problems with that set up? any one run that setup on here?

If you click the link I posted, it wll show you how to wire in flashing side markers. Just search on the Daniel sterns links in the tech link.
I found a set of the Hella H4 housings and bulbs in a U-pull it a few years ago in Tacoma. Cost me a "whopping" $1.00 each! They are usually about $50.00 each. I was just about to leave and looked down at this truck and there they were. I then did the wiring upgrade w/ relays. What a difference!! They work excellent!!
