Looks like I just blew my second high pressure fuel pump in the last two months. First went out in San Diego the morning I was to cross the border for my 5 month trip tp Baja. I'm now pretty sure that I have the same problem again. I'm getting my truck towed tomorrow to La Paz ford. Anybody had any experience with warranty service in Mexico? I'd like to get hold of ford in the USA but cannot find any place to contact them. I'm here with the wife,2 kids,2 ferrets,2 turtles and 1 dog until I get this fixed! truck has only 20000 miles. Can I trust Ford in La Paz to fix this?
I can think of worst places to be stuck...cold...snowy...windy...gangs.
Even if you had some out of pocket expences you should be able to get reimbursed back in the US.
I would also like to know how the service is south of the border? I have found most people there very nice (outside the tourist traps).
Good luck.
Colin
thanks for all your help. My truck was towed to La Paz Forrd last monday (muy loco tow truck driver) They tell me its the EGR valve and when they add all the diagnostic costs to the " valves they had to clean due to the contamination by the bad EGR valve"
I'm looking at around 21,000 mex pesos, around $1500.
I emailed ford in the US twice, they have yet to respond!!!.
Where do I send the recipts for reimbursment?
Should be picking my truck up tomorrow unless we go fishing for tuna.
thanks again
