Cat-Back came off Cat
Lol i hit a puddle today and suddenly my exhaust tone really changed. I thought somehting got wet but when it continued for 70 miles i knew it wasnt a wet cap or anything like that lol, i was like, "sounds like the exhaust is coming out from under the truck not the pipe" sure enough the cat had seperated itself from the cat back exhaust. wonder how this happened i thought midas welded them together? Well now i have a free hanging gibson cat back and am unsure what is causing the problem. I've had this thumping noise against my floorboard since i bought the truck, but the cat or pipe going to it didn't seem to be loose? I dunno what to do just reconnect them or replace the cat with a pipe? When i get out of work ill go have another look

a lot of exhaust shops do not weld the exhaust, they clamp it. This is a cheap way of doing things. Personally I would take it to a place that welds. Clamps can come loose or rust off. Might be a couple of bucks more to have it welded, but it is money well spent.

One more thing, if Midas did weld it, take it somewhere else. I am not a big fan of Midas/Minakee. I would take it to a local shop that has good word of mouth. I have had custom duals on my Bronco for 7 years now with no problems that was put on by a good local shop.
