I bought them (MADE IN CHINA) put them in my 06 Focus for the mileage increase I to watched Hot rod t.v.I got worse mileage I want from 31 to 29 and Fofo seems to idle with vibration. They may do better in older stuff thou.
honestly, throw some autolite 104s in there, and you will be good. best plug for that car by far.
so would a platinum motorcraft spark plug be better than a copper one? right now im using motorcrafts sp-450's in my 82' with a 302 and they run good but will platinum plugs be even better?
It is not that platinum conducts better, platinum is stronger. Most modern ignition system create enough voltage to cause the electrodes on normal plugs to erode. Platinum is far more resistant to the erosion from the actually spark itself
Here's a snip of something I googled up:
In a racing environment, there are generally no emissions standards and an excessive amount of fuel present. This environment can cause spark blowout if you are not using the appropriate setup. Platinum spark plugs are not recommended in this situation because, more often than not, spark blowout will occur due to the fact that the tip surfaces of a platinum spark plug is not large enough to make a good conductor in a rich, super high compression environment. Standard type spark plugs provide plenty of surface area for the spark to conduct under such conditions. Therefore a conventional non-resistor spark plug is recommended because it has a larger surface area that will allow the spark to occur.
plugs are plugs. i run motorcraft TR6's in my 557 HP turbo mustang, if i remember right they were a little over a 2 bucks each. if you want better spark, upgrade the ignition
