Purple Hornies are a glasspack muffler, they sound really good if you like that poppy early 60's sound on your car. i have a set on my 82 F-150 that sound great!

iv got the purple hornies there realy nice i was going to mount them strait to the header but the cross member was in the way so now i have side pipes on a 1973 ford f100 360fe

Yeah that's what my '72 is going to have, I made the same mistake you did when I bought the 'hornies, I tried to bolt them right up to the collector and the trans crossmember was in the way. So now the exhaust will be exiting in front of each rear wheel by way of a chrome slant cut 3.5" exhaust tip.
