I just bought a new trailer with the oval sealed lights. The right side light works with the the truck lights on but the left one doesn't, the brakes work, but when I turn on a turn signal both lights flash so I am thinking maybe a crossed wire? I checked the ground for the actual lights and fixed them and it didn't fix anything. It is a 7 prong round plug. Thanks
Try your truck with another trailer; if it stays the same you'll need to check your 250's wiring/RV connector with a multimeter or test light. If the other trailer works OK, then the dealer of your new trailer has some work to do.
Some of those require a jumper for the running lights to work. On the trailer side connector the left & right side are wired in on different pins. Either place a jumper in the connector to tye the pin together or move the one side over to the same pin. I would get a battery charger to identify what is wired where by putting power on pins that you don't know what they are for. Sounds like it is nowired per standard plug wiring.
Bad bulb! One filiment (low or dim) is out, brake (bright) is ok. Prob a XX57 or like bulb. Gotta be a way to replace bulbs....Or trailer manufacturer was stupid and installed non-replaceable units.
Sorry this isn't a "new trailer" it is new to me. I dug into it last night and the wiring is all messed up so i just bought a setup for a 4 prong for the time being and then I am going to work on the 7 prong in my free time.
