4x4 switch/dial

I have a 2005 f-150, the 4x4 switch/dial to engage does not work every time. Any feedback would be great.

the electronic 4x4 switches have been going bad as long as i can remember. it sucks you buy a 4wd truck and it doesn't work. could be electrical,the hubs mite have went bad, i think they run on vacuum ??. i converted my 00 super duty to manual hubs and manual shift 4x4 because of the annoying problem.
