Two Questions

First, how long can you let your truck idle before you need to worry about engine damaged, and what would that damage be and do.

Second, up to what angel can you run your truck until you need to worry about oil not getting into some of the engine parts or anything for that matter, also what about the transmission?

As always thanks in advance for the info and help!

all night long..but its best with a high idle set to around 1100 RPM to keep battery charged as well as keeping oil and coolant moving.
I would say your safe on hills to the point of role over....with that said..i wouldnt park all day or night on a steep grade where the bulk of the oil is only at one end....i want the crank to have the oil it needs on a cold start up..

Ron said exactly what I was going to say. I have idled my truck all night many times to sleep. I didn't have hi idle then.

If you stop sucking oil out of the pan, the truck will die. Thats about the only thing that is good about how our injectors fire.

That's what I thought, just did not know if the oil is gravity feed throughout the engine or if it is pressure injected to the spots so no matter how the engine angel is it always get the oil it needs.

On a severe angle, I would be more concerned about the fuel pickup in the tank than the oil in the pan.

Yeah, good point chris. And at too much of an angle, your beer might fall over.
