What your top speed in reverse?

Well I was curious after my friend who own 01 F250 V8 5.4L with gear ratio 4.10 that have plow. One time he was so late and need finish plow. he would go in 40 mph reverse. That time I was ride it feel like you out chair when slam on gas pedal in reverse. i do believe rpm was somewhere 3,000-4,000 rpm

most time I have drive would be 5-10 mph until it long driveway like my Uncle top was 35 mph with v8 or v10 but L6 hate high rpm so it slow.

He been do that all times so I can't believe but all I know that limited slip are broke and transmission/ transfer case replaced few years ago. But it plow truck.

I've gone over 25mph backwards before. I can drive as good backwards as I can forwards. I forget where my current truck tops out in reverse. Some cars do get squirrely in reverse.

don't do on road. Just HUGE park lot at midnight

40 mph and he push gas pedal full way. but park lot are small I say somewhere 100'x200 but he would slam then off then hit brake.

my 79 F150 MAX 15 mph with rpm at 3,000 with manual transmission.

I don't want to seem too **** on this subject but have we resorted to knowing or caring how fast we have all gone in "REVERSE"? I don't have a problem with milwaukee starting the thread but i think the "poll" is a little overboard.

This thread might be appropriate if this was the HSP (Hollywood Stunt Proffesionals) forum.

Why don't we start a new "reverse" drag racing sport.
How about Detroit adding a 0-to-100 speedo to all their cars.

Time for the calculator:

With a 3.73 rear, and 32" tires (pretty much stock height for '99-04), given a 2.18:1 reverse on the 4R100, and a gasser doing 4500RPMs, that's 52.6MPH.

With a 4.30, it's more like 45.6MPH.

With a diesel (stock) that's limited to 3250RPM or so, 37.9 with 3.73's, and 32.9 with 4.30's.

I help plow a large factory's lots,,the front lot is long and narrow,,30' x 300' approx,,walks on both side's,,,normal reverse trips with my F-350 6.0 w/3:73 is 10 to 15 mph,,been upto 20 mph or so,,,not many times,,,I feel it's leaning on the tranny a bit to much for me!

I would rather go a bit slower pace,,easier on the all the truck parts,,,more chance's to see and avoid any IDIOTS that dont' have a clue when approaching someone plowing snow !

F-350 Just turned 40k today,,going to snow tomorrow 1/10/09, 6" to 10" !

I could be using a 7.3's limit, it very well could be 4K for the 6.0L. Anyone know for sure?
