Unhappy No spark when cranking engine

I only get spark when I turn on and off the key. None when cranking the engine. Truck is a 1989 F250 with a 302 (I think) Not my truck and it is stuck in my garage. We just added another p/s unit for the plow lift and now it will not run. There is a black box that is wired into the ignition switch, we have no idea what it is. Could be remote start. Not sure though.

Any Ideas guys where I should look first. Not used to working on EFI systems.

Thanks

Try pulling the SPOUT connector, and see if you get spark then. The SPOUT is a 1 pin connector that comes from a wire to the ignition module. If you get spark then, you might have a problem with your ECM (computer).

What seems to happen is that the ECM can load the SPOUT signal, and the system won't fire.

There should be an EEC relay somewhere in the engine compartment. This powers the computer and the injectors. On my 89 6 cyl, the relay coil lead was corroded, and it wouldn't activate.

You can probably fine the wiring diagram on autozone. Chances are that there's a fuse associated with the circuit as well.

We got her going. Ended up running the battery down while messing around with the truck. I put a fresh battery in and the truck fired right up. Must have had a error code in the computer or some kind of glitch. Seems to work ok now.

Thank you for your help ford2go.
