Does anybody have the wiring schematic for the 4wd selctor switch? The only thing that I have power to is the lightblue/red wire that I beleive is for the interior lights.Where does the switch get its power from?-Gem module-$285 for that little jewel.(1998 F150)
You have asked for wire info but is that the only problem or does the 4w not work?
It's a complex system that need more than wiring understanding, just so your aware.
The truck will not go into 4wd at all-lo or hi-I don't here any clicking-there is vacuum at the solenoids on the firewall and on the front diff. If you supply power to the transfer case motor it moves.
There is complex communucations between the switch, the GEM, the two relays on the firewall, the transfer case motor and the vacuum actuator.
When the proper responses are seen by the GEM it lights the lamp otherwise no action is taken.
This is why it's tough to discribe in detail, were you should have a service disc to follow or a source of extended information.
The first place to check out is the motor assembly on the transfer case.
Good luck.
