why why why?
i bought this 390 today so i can use the crank and rods out of it. well just do ya know it was used as a water can.took it apart it looks like it was just rebuilt, .040 pistons ,cylinder walls have no edge at the top were the rings end, timing chain looks new and tight'lifters show no wear.don't know if its a good cam or not it might be a perform cam or somthing. the walls are rusty dont know if honing will help or not,but got a crank and rods for my 360.rather use this one though its a 69 blocki beleive the first # under the filter is hard to determine it looks like a 9.well $200. it cheaper than buying the crank & rods out right. so i'm saying why when you any engine out and not running do you let it get exposed to the weather.

It goes like this:
"It's not going to rain for the next few days, so I'll just leave it out here next to the garage".
"It rained last night, but I had a plastic bag over the carb so it'll be OK until I get to it".
"The plastic bag blew off but it didn't rain the past few days, so it's still OK, I'll get around to it in another day or two".
"Dang, we had 5 inches of rain over the past week, and I forgot the plastic bag blew off, I'll pull the plugs, rotate the motor and oil it up this weekend".
"Forgot to get around to it, it's been 6 months since the plastic bag blew off, when I got out there and tried to rotate the motor, it's locked up solid".
And it sits there for the next decade
