I know this does not pertain to trucks, but I just had to tell you about these two special people.
Tuesday a friend of ours for many years, at 90 years old, died. His name is Paul Jolly. He was an intelligent, friendly, and wise man. His passion was chess, and taught chess at the local schools, to young kids. His bucket list was to expand the minds of as many young children as possible.
He also was a Chrysler guy who had three 50x100 garages full of 1920-1970 Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler cars, parked side by side.
Tomorrow my wife and I go to the funeral of a young man of 22, Jordan Payne, who was in an car accident and needed pain medication for his pain. He took to many pills and never awakened. He was a neighbor and friend who we knew since he was a little boy. He was at our house for Christmas.
My bucket list is not a place, but a feeling of wanting to spend as much time as possible with those I love. My wife and I are in our 60's and have lost many friends and family as I know some of you have. Every day we live on this earth is a blessing. So, high on my bucket list is a prayer that all of you have a safe and healthy 2009.
Well said Lloyd. Life is a precious thing, and taking time out to smell the roses "especially" with loved ones/friends is a must. Often I wonder if every last one of us made it a goal to consciously do just one good deed a day. What kind of a world would we then live in.
I know the feeling. Lost a buddy couple months ago, was found next to his truck(drove semi) one night. No signs, never complained, Boom, over! Seems the older I get the more it appears around me and sometimes scares me. Life is VERY precious and we should spend it with people we care about and live every day like it's our last.
