ok i read a while ago that putting a glasspack in front of the muffler makes the GP act as a resonator? is this true? to my understanding its supposed to tone down the higher end exhaust tones. also if i would get 3 or 3.5" tips would that make my exhaust a little deeper? thanx
Hmm...that's a new one-- I never heard that a glasspack could be used as a resonater. If anything, it would probably just make your truck a lot quieter . I'd recommend getting a larger tip tho... makes the tone deeper... 3.5" x 18" would work great. What setup do you have on your 300 right now?????
removed 2nd cat, 2.5" pipe from there into a flowmaster delta flow 40 series and then to a y and 2.5" duals. as for the tips...i would like something cheap cuz im broke. why would i need 18x3.5"? why so long?
A longer tip makes the sound/pulses go farther apart and make a nice resonant sound... I have a single 3.5 x 18 coming out in front of my rear pass. tire and it cleaned up the sound a hell of a lot better than when I was running with dumps... It brings out the 'flowmaster tone' a lot better. I'm sure you can run shorter tips and be fine... I'm just kinda picky And that tip only costed me 28 bucks I think... and its stainless steel... I don't think it gets cheaper than that!?!?!?! summitracing.com
